As opera gained popularity as an art form, different aesthetic trends and compositional styles rose to prominence in countries across Europe and North America. In the second half of the Opera 101 historical survey and explanation of musical terms, lecturer Naomi Barrettara will focus on the evolution of opera from 1850 to the present day.
